Join PRSA Chicago’s Young Professionals Network for our next monthly event on Wednesday, Apr. 24 from 6-7:30 p.m., where you hear perspectives from two diverse leaders on the agency and client side about lessons they learned early in the careers on leadership, teamwork and growth that has helped them become the professionals they are today.

Glenn Eden, Executive Vice President, Weber Shandwick Chicago

Glenn is responsible for the creation and implementation of strategic PR, corporate reputation and executive visibility plans for technology, financial services, manufacturing and government clients. He also has a proven track record of advising and counseling companies on media relations strategies to insure media coverage that successfully raises awareness, visibility, and understanding of their products/services, and favorably supports their overall business objectives.

Glenn has solid media relationships with outlets including CNBC, CNN, Bloomberg TV, Fast Company, Fortune, USA TODAY, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and major dailies throughout the U.S. Glenn has worked with IBM, Nuveen Investments, the U.S. Department of Treasury, Motorola, Mattel, Lenovo, Google, Gogo. Qualcomm and the City of Chicago’s Department of Innovation and Technology, and others.

He is an advisory board member of the Illinois Technology Association’s Midwest Internet of Things Council. Glenn is also an executive oversight committee member of The Array of Things Project, the world’s first urban sensing initiative based in Chicago. In 2016, he was named to Chicago Inno’s 50 on Fire honor roll for outstanding contributions to Chicago’s tech and innovation ecosystem. Glenn received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan.

Sandy Rodriguez, Lead, Global Integration and Divestiture Communications, Takeda Pharmaceuticals

Named as Takeda’s Vice President of Global Integration & Divestitures Communications in January 2019, Sandy currently oversees the global integration and divestiture communications strategy for Takeda’s $62 billion acquisition of Shire PLC. She is charged with developing and implementing communication plans that focus on integrating the culture and highlighting the progress of the integration to employees and external stakeholders.

In May of 2018, Sandy served as Integration Lead, Corporation Communications where she oversaw and executed the communications strategy for Takeda’s acquisition of Shire. She held this role simultaneous to that as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A. Inc., where she led the team that covered all corporate communications for the $3 Billion U.S. commercial business based out of Deerfield, IL. In this capacity, Sandy served as a strategic advisor to the president of the company and her executive team on all communication issues related to business development, crisis communication, product milestones, change management, and global initiatives. She has served an instrumental role in multiple restructure initiatives, global and local acquisitions, product litigation and transformation initiatives.


The panel discussion will be moderated by Tarsis Lopez, Director, Regional and Product Communications, Astellas (@AstellasUSA) and Co-Chair, YPN committee at PRSA Chicago (@PRSAchicago).
